Never stop smiling
21 februari 2016 - Lettele, Nederland
Here I am, in a rainy little village in The Netherlands. I miss Australia, and everything in it, so much. Not just traveling in this amazing country, but also Sydney, Wake Up! and everyone I met there. During my time at Wake Up!, I was thinking: what can I write when almost every day is the same? Wake up, work, chill a bit in the room, having diner, go to sleep and wake up again. On my days off I always tried to go out, explore Sydney, see all the beauty in this fantastic city.
Of course there were also great moments during a ‘normal’ day. That’s what I realized at a certain moment. So, I decided to make a list of all the (little) things that made me smile. Especially my colleagues made my Aussie experience amazing, so hereby the list I made about them during my internship at Wake Up!. These are things I really miss and make me smile every time when I read this list.
- The morning or/and evening hugs and kisses from Sam.
- The ‘pardon love’ of Ethan. Oh, and the way he drinks his beer.
- The way Ryan walks in every morning. And the fact that he’s is always singing during the day.
- Dave’s behaviour during work. And after work as well. Actually, his behaviour in general.
- Josh’s mysterious ‘good morning’, his bad jokes and hilarious questions.
- Dominique’s impudence and the fact that we can talk about everything.
- The sincere enthusiasm of the Philips Brothers.
- The fact that Kira can laugh all day about something that happened at the start of that day.
- Beatriz’ kindness.
- The way Ally picks up the phone.
- The fact that Mo wants to take care of us by giving us food (mostly sweets).
- Nick’s ‘too easy’. His life must be so good, everything is “too easy”.
- John’s, well let’s say, special lifestyle .
- James M. “wise advices”.
- Marie’s enthusiasm for everything.
- Listening to Kody’s stories after a day of work (blablabla).
- Charley’s... Yeah, Charley’s what? Just Charley.
- Jordan’s hair.
- Zoe’s craziness.
- Ryan D. dance moves, especially during the ‘Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)’ or ‘Why You Always Lying’ songs.
- Conor’s accent (I love it).
By thinking of Australia, I’ll always have a smile on my face. I miss you mates, hope you’re all fine!
See ya, have a good one!
